We are a full service dog grooming salon. We offer nail clipping and grinding, gland expression, teeth brushing, bathing, blowouts and full grooms too! Looking for something fun and extra? We also offer coat dyeing, toenail painting and feather extensions!

The Doghouse Salon is formerly known as Vonnie's Doghouse, the longest running grooming salon in Columbia County! Vonnie decided to retire in 2022 and Erica purchased the shop - with the agreement that the employees are what makes the business, so needed to stay :) luckily, everyone stayed on board and we've been taking the best possible care of your furry family members ever since!

Our team is made up of certified pet care professionals who are trained to provide compassionate care to your doggos. We are committed to ongoing training and education to ensure we are providing the best possible care to your pets.
Our People!
Erica Weltsch, owner and groomer
Erica is a longtime member of the St. Helens community. When she heard that Vonnie's was coming up for sale, she decided to purchase the shop and keep a long standing local business up and running. She and her husband Mike own Happy Hollow Construction, LLC and a local horse facility, and understand the importance of locally owned small business.
After meeting Vonnie and all of the employees agreed to stay, Erica worked with Vonnie for several months, meeting clients and learning to groom. She's always trying to find ways to improve the salon for clients and employees alike and is working on several salon-wide certifications, including Fear Free and AKC Safe Salon! Stay tuned!
Olivia Purkiss, groomer
Olivia is a long term staff member of The Doghouse. Liv started in the shop as a bather and quickly moved into a groom training role with Vonnie! Liv is an exceptional groomer who really knows how to calm your high anxiety dog and get a lovely cut at the same time. Liv is also learning the art of creative grooming - so if you're interested in colorful fun dye work, she's the one for you!
Nicole Rice, groomer
Nicole has been a groomer for seven years and is a certified canine esthetician. She is our go to for skin mysteries, as well as Asian Fusion style grooming and nail expert. You will sometimes see Nicoles young toddler son in the shop - he loves to come and visit the dogs occasionally!
